Ryan Sellers has been teaching Latin since 1996. Since 2007, he has taught at Memphis University School in Memphis, Tennessee, where he currently serves as Chair of the Department of Classical and Modern Languages. He earned a B.A. in English and Latin from Louisiana State University, an M.A.T. from the University of Memphis, and an M.A. in Latin from the University of Georgia. Ryan has worked as a reader for the Advanced Placement Latin Exam, he has published articles in several academic journals, and he has held such leadership positions as State Co-Chair of the Tennessee Junior Classical League, Co-Chair of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South Latin Translation Contest, and President of the Tennessee Classical Association. He is also the host of Quintilian: The Latin Teacher Podcast.
Ryan has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and he has received such recognitions as the Tennessee Classical Association's Distinguished Latin Teaching Award, the Hubert Smothers Excellence in Teaching Award from the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools, and the Joyce Ward Teacher of the Year Award from the Tennessee World Language Teaching Association.
